I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bartgis, though I wish I had. His comment about the Redskins letting him down is hilarious and very witty. I'm sure he was a great guy. My sincere sympathies to his family and loved ones.

RIP Mr. John Ray Bartgis

I had the chance to meet Mr. Bartgis when I taught his son, Max. He was a very nice man and you could see the love that he had for his son. May he rest in peace. I can imagine he and Max laughing together up in heaven.

John Rae was my cousin.  I have such fond memories of him when he was a little boy, when we all (all the cousins) would get to visit my Grandpa's farm in West Virginia.  While the men were putting up hay, we were all playing in the creek and exploring and having a blast until we heard that familiar call from Granny Lucy "Debbieeeeeee!"  That meant dinnertime and then it was a race to the big old farmhouse where all my aunts were cooking and adding to the wonderful memories - homemade bread, yellow tomatoes & potatoes right out of the garden.  After supper was "the bomb", getting to call the hogs and hear them coming for the dinner scraps.  We all have had separate lives, but we are all joined in memories.  I will see you again dear cousin, along with all our loved ones that have gone ahead. Aunt Margie and Uncle Shorty, Cindy & Gregg - I love you all and am praying for God's comfort to be with you for John and all our loved ones recently lost.

We will miss you John and we have some of the best memories to keep in our heart of you. We had great times dirt bike riding; driving in the snow traveling to see your parents; singing "Under the Boardwalk" to watching the Redskins play. There are more but they are ours to hold.
Our sympathy to the family and friends, we are truly sorry.

I truly wish Mr. Bartgis' family comfort during this trying time.
I marvel at his final wish being a Washington Redskin fan myself.
I do hope his wish was granted. It would be such an honor for any Redskin to attend my visitation and sign my condolence book. John's request is a beautiful one.
I'm sure the family loves him very much as a piece of him will not only flow through your  veins but forevermore remain in your heart with your memories.

John is my little brother, and he always will be, both in life and in death.  I hope he knows of his impact on other people.  Personally, my life has changed forever and it will not be as bright as it was with him in it.  I miss him terribly, but, I know I will see him again.  Rest peacefully John.
