Zachary Powell Griffin

Zachary Powell Griffin, 24, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2023. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Anthony C. and Frances P. Griffin, Chuck and Carol Fleet, James D Hubbard and Thomas “Pa” Hall. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Norman P Griffin, Crystal Griffin, Jennifer Fleet (Chuck), his siblings; Christopher Griffin and Suzanne Griffin, and Trey Fleet, his grandparents; Vickey “MeMa” Hall, Wayne and Wanda Toney, his great-grandmother, Dora M. Hubbard, and his treasured friend, Tyler Mitchell, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Zachary loved reading, music, video games, and movies. His family describes him as the sweetest soul. He was quick-witted, colorful, intellectual, and kind-hearted. His passion for his community showed in his volunteer work with his father at the Cold Harbor Ruritan Club preparing Brunswick stew and the annual shrimp feast. 

The Family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 1-2 pm at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd, Mechanicsville, VA, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Cold Harbor Ruritan Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 570 Mechanicsville VA 23111.
