Tanner Jr., William “Billy” Eldridge- 59 of Mechanicsville, VA passed away on January 8, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Tanner Sr. and Mildred Sayles Tanner Clark. He is survived by his daughter, Katie Smith (Nick); granddaughter, Mackenzie Smith; step-grandson, Paxton Smith; Sisters, Linda Baughan (Fred), and Roxanne Yushchak (Derek); Nieces, Krista Robb (Jason), and Brooke Walsh; nephew, JB Baughan; and a lifelong friend, David Martin. Anyone who knew Billy knew he had a love for classic cars and car shows. He spent some of his free time restoring cars, riding ATVs with his family and friends in West Virginia and riding his Harley. Billy was a man of many talents who had a remarkable attention to detail. He owned and operated his own business that many knew as Tanner Construction for over 20 years. Although Billy was a busy man, he always made time for his family. He was a loving and dedicated father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Billy will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind soul who would do anything for someone in need. One of his greatest treasures in life was any time he got to spend with his precious granddaughter, Kenzie. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Monaghan Funeral Home; 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA. 23111.
