Wayne Allen McIlwain

Wayne Allen McIlwain passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born to Charles & Dorothy McIlwain on September 21, 1947 in Kittanning, PA where he grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Kittanning High School in 1965 and eventually took over the family farm. He farmed in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina over his lifetime. Wayne was blessed with 5 children, Brian, Joel, Beth, Jill and step-daughter Tiffany. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping as he travelled around the country. Wayne could always be counted on for a story, chatting with folks and remembering how he enjoyed growing up in Western PA. He is survived by his 5 children, Brian McIlwain (Trish), Joel McIlwain (Annette), Beth Bygall (Brad), Jill McIlwain and Tiffany Carpenter (Will) along with 10 grandchildren (Zach, Brendan, Natalie, Logan, Dylan, Jameson, Harvey, Hall, Kent and Stokes) as well as his 2 sisters, Jan Parker (John, significant other; Craig d. 2012), Sheila Lehner (Mark) and several nieces and nephews. Wayne was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. There will be a private viewing in Virginia for the immediate family.
