Thurston "Buddy" Albert Boggs

BOGGS, Jr., Thurston “Buddy” – 75 of Mechanicsville, VA departed this life, Monday, May 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verona and Thurston Boggs, Sr.; a sister, Mary Boggs; and a brother, Michael Boggs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Cheryl Boggs; a daughter, Wendy Boggs; a sister, Delores Thomas (Danny); two sisters-in-law, Linda Boggs, and Tricia Dunay; a nephew, several nieces, and many cousins and friends. Buddy was born in Alleghany County, VA and retired from VDOT after 39 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend and will be deeply missed. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Hanover Memorial Park, 4447 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A reception will follow at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Bon Secours Community Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Air Rd. Richmond, VA 23235.
