Thomas C. "Tommy" Evans, Sr.

Evans, Sr. Thomas C. “Tommy”- 84, of Quinton, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Temple Evans, Sr. and Helene Bonham Evans, and his brothers, David T. Evans Jr. and Edward B. Evans. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Lehman Evans; his son, Tommy Evans, Jr. (Krystal); daughters, Tracy Evans (Topher) and Tara Evans (Kevin); his grandchildren, Fisher (Anna), Hannah, and Delaney Evans, and Isabelle and Jacob Rivera; great-granddaughters, Nova Blu Wilson and Braelynn Rose Rivera; his siblings, John R. Evans Sr., Jane O’Donohue, and Laura Andrews; brother-in-law, Jimmy Lehman (Susan); sister-in-law, Coretta Evans; and many other relatives and friends.

Tommy attended Hermitage High School and proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member at New Bethesda Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water, as well as gardening and tending to his berry fields. He loved all sports, especially college basketball and VA Tech sports. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to James River Hospice, especially nurse Megan Ragsdale, for their kindness and care during Tommy’s final weeks. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026, at New Bethesda Baptist Church, 9019 New Bethesda Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116, with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at noon followed by military honors, and a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to New Bethesda Baptist Church or Operation Christmas Child.
