Tammy Clark Obituary

Mechanicsville, VA – The Lord called Tammy Lee Clark, 55, home to revel in infinite glory on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

The story of Tammy’s life was inspired first and foremost by a deep and unending love for her family and friends which was demonstrated daily in countless ways. Most remarkably, Tammy’s undeniable strength, courageous will to be present, and never-concede-defeat attitude, will eternally serve as hallmarks of her legacy.  She modeled these character traits persistently while enduring numerous, severe health challenges.  The Holy Spirit was undoubtedly working in her and through her every moment of her life.

Tammy was born in Richmond, VA and graduated from Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, VA in 1984.  Shortly thereafter, she fell deeply in love with, and set out alongside, her soulmate Troy Clark to discover all of life’s triumphs.  Together in Mechanicsville, VA, they celebrated one another’s shenanigans in marriage for over 34 years.  Their devotion to partnership and authentic love was foundational to how they would raise their only son, Gary Jaffe.  Gary had an incredibly special place in Tammy’s heart, as does she in his.  He was truly the apple of her eye and Tammy was undeniably enamored with her grandchildren, Drew and Lynnlee.

Tammy had a distinctive power to fill every room with illuminating light, genuine love, and profound perspective.  She was engaging and compassionate, freely opening arms to ensure those around her felt welcomed and understood. Despite overwhelming physical limitations, Tammy exhibited a mighty determination and mental force.  We were all privileged to bear witness to such bravery and should strive to emulate the same intensity of spirit, strength and love in our daily lives.

Honoring Tammy’s life on this side of heaven are; her Husband, Troy Clark, Son, Gary Jaffe, and Daughter-in-law, Cassie Jaffe (Grandchildren Drew & Lynnlee), Mother, Mary West, Mother-in-law, Patricia Davis, Stepmother, Sherry West, Stepgrandmother, Rachel West, Sister, Sherri Via and Brother-in-law Rusty Via (Nephew Josh & Niece Cara), Sister-in-law, Kelly Barnett (Nephew Collin & Niece Bianca), many additional family members and lifelong friends.  She is predeceased by her Father, Ronnie West, and so many other family members and friends, who assisted as a constant circle of support around her gracious heart.

A celebration of life will be held at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 on August 13, 2021.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the service will begin at 12:00 PM.  Reception to follow at the Davis residence, 8244 Hanover Grove Boulevard, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
