Steven Warren Kromer

Kromer, Steven Warren, 76, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026. Born on March 2, 1950, Steve lived a life marked by service, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked for many years as a butcher for A&P and later Food Lion, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly smile. Steve found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved NASCAR, camping, cooking, and baking his famous pound cake, which became a favorite among family and friends. He was a devoted member of Hardy Central Baptist Church in Varina, where his faith was an important part of his life. Above all, Steve treasured his family. His greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Kromer; his son, Timothy Kromer (Heather); his daughter, Amanda Clarke (Scott); his beloved grandsons, Russell Kromer and Scotty Clarke, who brought him immense pride and joy; his brother, Gerald Kromer (Kyoko); his faithful canine companion, Jazzmin; and many cherished extended family members and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am on August 08, 2026, at Hardy Central Baptist Church; 4655 Darbytown Road, Richmond, VA. 23231. A memorial service will be held at 11 am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
