Shirley E. (Emory) Willoughby

WILLOUGHBY, Shirley E. – 86 of Dinwiddie, VA gained her heavenly wings on August 5, 2025. She was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband of 60 years, Willie Willoughby; her parents, James H. and Beulah Mae Emory; and her siblings, Connie S. Williams, Pete Emory., Clyde H. Emory, Roy Emory, Floyd Emory and Lawrence Emory. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted son, Alan “BB” Willoughby; three grandchildren, Lauren Willoughby, Christopher Willoughby, and Jason Shields; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Shields, Brayden Wyatt, Violet Willoughby, Elijah Wyatt, and Reverie Willoughby; her sister, Elizabeth Martin; and a host of other relatives and friends. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife to her best friend of over 60 years. She had a kind and loving spirit and welcomed many people into her home over the years. She was a long-time member of West End Baptist Church of Petersburg and cherished her church family there. Shirley enjoyed watching major league baseball and old westerns. She devoted her life to caring for her family. Her great grandbabies were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11am-12pm at West End Baptist Church, 6506 Boydton Plank Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12pm. The family would also like to invite everyone who attends, to join them for a time of fellowship and reception at the church following the memorial service.
