Shirley J. Parker

Parker, Shirley J. – 92 of Sandston, VA, peacefully passed away in her home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest, and Celeste Jackson; her husband, Joseph F. Parker, Sr.; and her sons, Linwood, and Michael Parker. She is survived by her son, Joseph F. Parker, Jr. (Becky); daughter, Cindy Pleasants (Hank); five grandchildren, Katie Bobbitt (Andrew), Sarah Parker, Justin Pleasants (Rachel), Lydia Stickel (Ryan), and Lauren Mauk (Danny); and nine great-grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Drew, and Zack Stickel, Parker and Claire Bobbitt, Owen and Grace Pleasants, and Collins Mauk. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and always had a table full of food ready for her loved ones. The family will receive friends, from 1 – 2 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111 where a funeral service will be held immediately following at 2 pm. Interment will follow at 3 pm, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1400 South Randolph Street, Richmond, VA 23220. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church, Quinton, VA.
