Sherry Lynn (Mathews) King

KING, Sherry Mathews – 62 of Mechanicsville, VA, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker Lee, and Shirley Spruell Mathews; and her aunts, Gladys Mathews, and Elizabeth. She is survived by her beloved husband Hank Neal King; daughter, Jill Harris (Jason); son, Neal King (Sarah); three grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden Harris and Annabelle King; a brother, William Mathews (Betty); six nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Bella, and Cooper. Sherry will be forever remembered for the deep and abiding love she shared with her family. She cherished the time spent with them and her animals whom she treated like her children. She loved to travel, to the beach, mountains, or just a leisurely drive to nowhere special. She had a creative, entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for making candles, soaps, and jewelry. She will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 12- 2 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Gethsemane Church of Christ, 5146 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Breast Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
