Sherry Jean Holcomb Benners

BENNERS, Sherry Jean Holcomb, 63, of Mechanicsville, VA passed peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her father, James “Jim” Holcomb.  She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Donnie Benners; her daughter, Kristin Gibbs Irving; her mother, Betty Holcomb; her brother and sister, James Holcomb and  Maggie Holcomb; and her granddaughter, Ava Irving.  Sherry had a special love for cycling.  In her free time, you could find her reading a book, tending to her flowers, or enjoying a glass of wine.  Having an appreciation for music, she listened to all types of artists and genres. ‘Mimi’ loved spending time with her dear granddaughter, Ava most of all.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11 AM at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway.  A reception will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherry’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
