Sheila Faye Lowe

Sheila Faye Lowe née Anderson, died quietly in her sleep at an assisted living facility in Mechanicsville, Virginia, on September 10, 2024. She was 95 years old. Sheila was born on December 3, 1928, in East Tennessee, daughter of Levi Lacy and Ada Pearl Anderson. Sheila graduated from Norma, TN, High School in 1946 and married George B. Lowe a few months later. George and Sheila migrated to Indiana with other family members, then on to St. Marys, Ohio, where George found work at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and stayed 30 years. Sheila worked in retail for G.C. Murphy Company. They had two sons – David who lives in Washington DC and Michael residing in Lebanon VA. Upon retirement, George and Sheila lived in Lakeland, Florida, for twenty years until after George passed away in 2009. She had two older sisters, both now deceased. Nadine Anderson Neal passed away in 2006. Inez Anderson Lowe died in 2022, age 102. Inez and Sheila were very close, talking and laughing by phone weekly. As a young woman, Sheila was stunningly attractive. She had a sweet alto voice and loved to sing in church choirs. She supported her sons and their loud rock-and-roll bands. She loved playing along with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She had strong faith. A week before she passed, she announced that soon she was going home and would be reunited with her family. She will be buried with George in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
