Gillen-Davis, Sharon – 74 of Siesta Key, FL passed away suddenly on Friday, September 12, 2025 in Mechanicsville, VA. Born April 11, 1951 in Morristown, NJ, Sharon grew up in Denville, New Jersey. Sharon received a Bachelor’s degree from Monmouth University and later a Masters degree from NJ City University. She devoted herself to a career in education at Roxbury High School where she served as a Spanish teacher from 1974 to 2007. She and Rick retired to Kilmarnock, VA and then later moved to Siesta Key, FL. A friend to all, Sharon was very active with her many knitting, quilting and book clubs, a member of the St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Sarasota and an avid gardener. She will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lynn Gillen; and her beloved husband of 32 years, Rick Davis. She is survived by her step-children, Kepler (Aimee) Davis of Evans, GA and Casse Rose of Toledo, OH; and her grandchildren, William, Andrew and Elizabeth Davis, and Alex, Kyle and Abigail Rose. A memorial service will be held at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Sarasota, FL in November, date and time are to be determined. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, Wisconsin.
