Sandra (Blankenship) Bartrug

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear precious mother, Sandra Blankenship Bartrug, of Mechanicsville who went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2024, at the age of 76, after a beautifully lived life. She was known for her warm smile, sweet laughter, welcoming arms, and immense love and devotion to all her family, friends, and the Lord. She was such a light in this world who truly touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Florence Blankenship, as well as her husband of 50 years, Roger “Pookie” Bartrug. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Bradley (Brian); her son, Brian Bartrug (Sandra); her grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Leanna, and Jake; as well as her siblings, Priscilla, Betty, Jack Jr, and Dorothy.

The family will receive friends to commemorate Sandra’s incredible life and celebrate the love she shared so freely from 2 – 3 pm, on November 23, 2024, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA. 23111. A Memorial service will begin at 3 pm, with a celebration of life reception to follow at the home of Lori and Brian Bradley, 7608 Old Track Lane, Mechanicsville, VA.  23111.  All who knew her are invited to join in remembering a truly amazing woman whose impact will forever remain in all our hearts.
