SEAY, Rose Schutte, known as “Gigi” to her family, left us on Thursday, May 11, 2023, praying that she is worthy enough to be accepted by our Lord to “Come Unto Me”. She was just seven days shy of her 89th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando A. “Lanny” and Louise T. “Lou” Schutte; and her husband of 46 years, Robert A. “Bob” Seay. She is survived by her “two kids”, Robert L. “Lennie” and his wife Susan Christine Seay; her “special son”, Ralph “Rip” Burroughs (Sharon); her sisters, Kathleen S. Sanderlin (William E. “Buddy”), Patricia S. “Tricia” Malechek (Edwin “Ed”), and Rebecca B. “Becky” Skipper (Fred); grandchildren, Brian J. Ankrom (Maureen), and Tori B. Holbrooks (Bryan R.); great-grandchildren, Jack Lenwood Ankrom, Evelynn Rose Ankrom, Lexington Lynn Holbrooks, and Bryan “Castle” Holbrooks, Jr.; a dear friend, Briget Bishop; a special son-in-heart, Thomas Lenning; five sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville VA 23111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Catholic Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116, with interment to follow at Hanover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to the church ministries' fund.
