NAPIER, Robert “Bob” 77, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away, Friday, January 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Napier, and Lillian Howle Napier. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Patsy Gifford Napier; daughter, Karen Ramsey-Napier Godfrey (Shawn); 2 grandchildren, Peyton, and Shannon; his brother, Paul Napier (Debbie); 2 sisters, Linda Napier and Susan Wells (Bennett); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was born in Richmond and lived in Mechanicsville for more than 55 years. He was a graduate of Douglas S. Freeman High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked at the Virginia Department of Transportation for more than thirty years, retiring in 2004. He then continued to work in the field of transportation as a consultant until 2015. Bob always had a smile on his face and a friendly greeting for everyone he met. He loved his family, and loved the time he spent fishing, and attending car shows with his many car guy friends both here and in Florida, where he spent winters for the past 10 years. The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 11 am – 12:30 pm, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a Memorial Service will be held promptly at 12:30 pm. All of those with classic or special cars are asked to bring them at 11 am for a cruise -in in honor of Bob. There will be a special area of the parking lot for those cars to park.
