Robert "Bob" Lee Hunt

HUNT, Robert “Bob” Lee, 74, of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Hunt and Sarah Dunn Hunt; his brothers, Gene McKay, Eddie McKay, Leslie Hunt, Martin Hunt, Joseph Hunt; his sister, Mary Louise Hunt Miller. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Roberta Hunt; his sons, Jason Hunt, Jeremy (Sarah) Hunt, Joe (Brenda) Hunt, and James Hunt; his daughter, Jackie Hunt; his sister, Cathy (John) Estanich; his brother, William Hunt; and his six grandchildren who he cherished with all his heart, Jacob, Cody, Jackson, Keelyn, Zander and Logan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob loved sports of all kinds. Some of his favorite memories were going to the Washington Senators opening games, the Orioles game where Cal Ripken was striving for his record, and the ACC Tournament when the Maryland Terrapins basketball team won. He loved playing games with his family, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, and reading. Bob was a caring man and supported various charities including Church of the Redeemer, Colonial Williamsburg, VCU Massey Cancer Center, the American Legion, NPR, Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, VMFA, Shriners, and the USO. The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 at 2 PM at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA, 23111.
