Johnston Jr., Robert E. 70 of Mechanicsville, VA went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Butler Johnston, and Robert E. Johnston Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Sandra Johnston; his stepmom, Carol Johnston; brothers, Mike Johnston (Kim) and Tom Johnston; stepsisters, Lisa Watkins, Lori Braxton, and Ashley Schermerhorn; sister-in-law, Cathy Sanderson (Bubba); children, Ernie Johnston, Matt Johnston (Krystal), Aaron Johnston (Melissa), and Wendy Albright (Matt); grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Jordan, Zoe, Hunter, Bailey, Kelsey, Beau, Lilah, Atreyu, and Leland; and his best friend, Izzie (his Labrador). Robbie loved Jesus with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved serving others and sharing the Lord with everyone. He enjoyed time at the lake, hunting, and he loved to work. He founded his business, Glen Allen Mechanical, in 1979 and has loved every minute of it. He loved his church and faithfully served in the children’s ministry. He treasured watching SBN (Swaggart Ministries) each night. You could always count on Robbie; he never missed an opportunity to help others. The family will receive friends from 9 - 10 am on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA where a funeral service will be held at 10 am. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, P.O. 262550, Baton Rouge, LA 70826-2550.
