BREMNER, Jr., Robert Gunn 80 of Mechanicsville, passed away on June 11, 2023, at UVA Hospital with his beloved wife of 58 years by his side. Bob was a graduate of Virginia Tech in civil engineering and started his own firm soon thereafter, which became one of the largest in the Richmond area at the time. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and in the late 80’s branched out into network marketing, eventually starting several successful businesses. He was a founding member of Mechanicsville Christian Center and was one of the original signers on the deed to purchase the land on which the church now stands. As an original elder of the church, which was established in the 70’s, his passion for the Lord never waned and only increased with each passing year. Bob was an incredible athlete his entire life, playing football, basketball, and track at Lee Davis High School, and then he was a member of the Virginia Tech swim team during his junior year of college. He was also an avid water and snow skier, which he continued to do his entire life. Bob is survived by his wife, Brenda Blake Bremner; children, Blair, David (Kathryn), and Kristi (Jeff); grandchildren, Drew Bremner, Lauren Bremner, John Sadler, and James Sadler. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mechanicsville Christian Center, mccag.org, or Grace Christian School, https://grace-school.net/expansion/support.html.
