Peter "Danny" Daniel Rudock

RUDOCK, Peter Daniel (Danny), best known as “Buddy”, 73, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025 surrounded by his family after valiantly fighting cancer for the last three years. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Peter Rudock and Thelma Schneider Rudock. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Rudock; his son, Chris James (Janet); his daughter, Danielle Njiriri (George); his four grandsons, Grayson James, Ryan James, Avery Njiriri, and Dylan Njiriri; and his sister, Princess Lynn Fibbiani. Danny had a 30 year career with Verizon Telephone Company and later worked for MasTec. He was always a true patriot to his community and had a deep love for his country--one of his proudest achievements was his service with Hanover County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Officer for 25 years. Anyone who knew Danny knew his favorite time of the year was Christmas and became well known as Deputy Dan the Christmas Man! The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00  AM at Monaghan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in Danny’s name.
