Nicholas Michael Monaghan

MONAGHAN, Nicholas Michael “Nick”; 26, of Mechanicsville, VA joined his dad in heaven, Saturday, September 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Monaghan, and several aunts and uncles. Nick is survived by his loving wife, Sydnie Meadows Monaghan; one son, Buxton Kevin Monaghan; his mother and step-father Karen  and Brad Dalton and their children, Kasey, Tyler, and Taylor Dalton; his step-mother, Meredith Monaghan and her children, Dylon Monaghan and Brenna Mickus; and many other family and friends. Nick was a free spirit who lived each day as if it were his last. He loved the outdoors, spear fishing, and just being on the water. He cherished his time spent with his wife and his son. Nick lived life on the edge and to the fullest and never worried about what might come tomorrow. He always knew how to have a good time. He left much too soon, but if he could, he would say,  “Party’s Over.”  The family will receive friends Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 4-8 pm at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A graveside service will be held, 2:00 pm, Friday, September 18, 2020 at Hanover Memorial Park, 4447 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Buxton’s college fund in care of BB&T bank or directly to Sydnie at Hanover Memorial Park.
