Nancy Lynn (Froeschl) Minson

Minson, Nancy Lynn Froeschl, 62 of Mechanicsville, slipped the surly bonds of earth into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Nancy was born in Richmond, VA on March 16, 1960, and was a graduate of Hermitage High School, class of 1978. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, George, and Hazel Froeschl, who raised her as their own. Also preceding her in death were her mother and father, Mae Owen Reid and Neal Reid of Elkton, FL; as well as her beloved brother, Mike Froeschl, who she dearly missed. Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Steve, who she married at 17 years old and loved for the rest of her life. Also left to cherish her memory are her son, Stevie of Mechanicsville; devoted brother, Jeff Reid and his wife Heather of Camden, SC; dear niece, Angela Hoffman of Roanoke, VA, as well as numerous friends that were blessed to know her along the way. The biggest joy in Nancy's life was putting smiles on the faces of others. She was never without a joke on hand, as well as words of kindness and encouragement delivered with her infectious smile and laughter. She had a deep care for the less fortunate, devoting much of her time assembling and donating hundreds of care packages for the homeless and needy. Nancy's final act of love and charity was the donation of her organs, bones, and tissue, in the hope that she would be able to help others have a better quality of life. Nancy was led to the Lord and accepted the gift of salvation on February 14, 1990. From that moment forward she knew her destination and that she was forgiven, and for that, we rejoice. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, with a celebration of life and salvation to follow at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Christian Appalachian Project and/or East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad. "And if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry, and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." - Isaiah 58:10-11
