Nancy (Alvis) Coates

Coates, Nancy Alvis, 75, of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with our Lord, December 31, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William Barnes Alvis and Mary Steffy Burton; her daughter Kathryn Renee Cecil; and sisters Patricia Cahoon of NC and Judy Kulp of Henrico. She leaves behind two sons, Joseph F. Cecil, Jr. (Tina), William T. Cecil (Charlotte); four grandsons, Joey Cecil, Jason Cecil, JT Cecil, and Kyle Cecil; one great grand-daughter, Cali Cecil; and brothers William “Pete” Alvis of Varina, and Claude “Dickie” Alvis of CA; along with many cherished friends. Nancy retired from C&P Telephone and The State of Virginia, and was a long time member of the Richmond East Moose Lodge, 7167 Flag Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 where a Remembrance Service will be held Saturday, January 19th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woman of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary.
