Melissa Anne Hunt

HUNT, Melissa Anne- 44 of Henrico, VA, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her step-brother, Brian Hunt; her grandparents, Norman Simon and Gaynelle Hendrick; her uncle, Tony Hunt; her aunts, Terry Hall, Shirley Hunt and Barbara Joseph; her cousin, Adam Simon; and her cousins, Jerry Hunt, Jr., and Michelle Hunt. She is survived by her parents, Sharon Simon Lea and Clemen Hunt; her brother, Ryan Hunt (Linda); step-sister, Stephanie Hunt Keller; her grandmother, Thelma Simon; aunts, Brenda Hicks (James) and Sophie Hunt; uncles, Robbie Hunt (Stacey), Jerry Hunt Sr., Norman Simon, Jr. (Allison), and Carlisle Bannister (Linda); her fur baby, Princess Zoey; cousins, Joe Hicks (Jamie), and Chris Hicks (Angela); and many other relatives and friends.

After graduating from high school, Melissa became a dental assistant thanks to the encouragement of her grandmother, Thelma, where she excelled and achieved many certificates and accreditations. Melissa was a kind, loving, and selfless person who was always putting others before herself. She had a deep and abiding faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ.  She loved cooking, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and the great outdoors. Melissa’s gentle spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 pm, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to your local animal rescue.
