Maxine Jacobs Fields

FIELDS, Maxine Jacobs- 85 of Mechanicsville, VA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Jack D. Fields; her parents, William, and Bettie Jacobs; her first husband Joe C. Cobb; two brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Cobb Apple, Connie Cobb Gaulding (Tony), and Rhonda Fields Haywood (Bill); five grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Maxine was the last surviving member of her birth family. She had many hobbies including sewing, flower arranging, Bingo, fishing, dancing, watching QVC and her beloved Washington Nationals, but her greatest love was the time she spent with her family. Maxine had a sweet tooth and enjoyed her Mary Janes, oatmeal cookies and chocolate-covered cherries. The family will receive friends, from 12 – 1 pm, Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111 with a funeral service to start promptly at 1 pm. Entombment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
