Mary Louise (Martin) Pohlig

POHLIG, Mary Louise (Martin)- 82 of Mechanicsville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Pohlig, Jr.; her parents, Thomas and Mary Woodley Martin; and two brothers, James Martin (Virginia) and Roland Martin (Kathy). Mary is survived by her children, Deborah Pohlig and William “Bubba” Pohlig, III (Kimberly); four grandchildren, Allan Lockett (Amanda), Krista Pohlig, Braxton Pohlig, and Tiffany Pohlig; four siblings, Richard Martin (Carolyn), Elwood Martin (Pat), Bobby Martin, and Alice Johnson (late husband, Ray); and many other relatives and friends. Mary was the Vice President of Pohlig’s INC., a company her and her late husband started in 1961. She loved the river and the beach, fishing, boating, country music, shopping, and Christmas time. She was a kind, loving, compassionate and hard-working, and strong-willed woman. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a funeral service to begin at 1 pm.
