Mark Kunkowski

KUNKOWSKI, Mark A., 68, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, after a 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary; and his youngest son, Patrick, 36. Mark is preceded in death by his oldest son, Kevin; and his parents, Frank and Mary Kunkowski. Mark served his community in multiple public service capacities for more than 42 years before retiring and then continued to share his knowledge as an instructor and mentor. Mark loved fishing, shooting, hunting, spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank Bon Secours Hospice by Compassus for all the nurses and doctors loving care that they gave Mark during his time with them. There will be a reception of friends and family on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM in Genesis Hall at the Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a celebration of life at 1:30 PM in Redeemer's sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your local hospice company in Mark’s name.
