Mark A. Debes

Debes, Mark A., 58, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. Debes; mother-in-law, Elvira Angulo; and his aunt, Elizabeth Ross. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Marylynn Coalson; mother, Linda Debes; sister, Amy Debes; children, Elizabeth Debes, Andrew Debes, and Jessica Debes; step-children, Madelynn Buchanan (James), Mariposa Coalson, William Coalson (Marlana), and David Coalson; grandchildren, James Thomas and Sean Buchanan, and Evelyn Coalson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Janelynn Testerman; along with a host of cousins and many close friends.

Mark was a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a proud member of the Theta Xi Fraternity. Mark had a long successful career in banking and was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Touchstone Bank. When he was not at work, you could find him golfing, cheering for the Washington Football Team, or spending time with his friends and family. A special thank you to Ascend Hospice for taking care of Mark during his final days.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, 12pm, August 19, 2003 at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22046. There will also be a reception to follow at the Hilton Garden Inn, 706 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046.
