Marion Rainey Obituary

Rainey, F. Marion – 84 of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Harper Rainey; his parents, Leonard Rainey and Almeda Rainey Pearson; and three brothers, Bart, James, and Walter Rainey. He is survived by his daughter, Monica Rainey Pearce (Kevin); two grandchildren, Reagan and Logan Pearce; several beloved nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Shirley Winebarger, and her family. Marion proudly served in the US Coast Guard. He was a former funeral director and member of the Hanover Lion’s Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and the time spent with his family and friends. He was a loving and generous father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 6 – 8 pm, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, January 20, 2023, at Hanover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
