Margaret Louise ("Maggie Lou") Greer

GREER, Margaret “Maggie Lou” – 69 of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Alfred Greer and Carolyn Irene Dunn; her sisters, Claire Virginia Davis and Yvonne Burnette (Jerry); and her brothers, Gary Wood Dunn and David Greer. She is survived by her brothers, Edwin Gordon Dunn “Eddie”, Kenneth Wayne Dunn, Calvin James Dunn “Chip”, and Brian Keith Dunn, and niece, Crystal Victoria Davis; an aunt, Irma Oakes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Maggie Lou spent 46 years as a teacher at Liberty Christian School. She loved sharing knowledge with the many children she taught throughout her career. She loved her dogs, the Atlanta Braves, and celebrating Christmas. She found great joy in spending time with her brother Brian’s grandchildren. She was like a second mother to her niece Crystal. She was a wonderful sister, aunt, and friend and she will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
