WRENN, M. (Monty) Vernon 85, of St. Stephens Church, VA went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and his late wife and mother of his children, Frances B. Wrenn. He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Marcia Jenkins; 2 children, Chris Wrenn, Sr (Kelly) and Elizabeth Fritts (Anthony); 5 grandchildren, Jessy (TJ), Christopher (Cori), Nicole (Louie), Amber (Steven), and Zachary; 7 great-grandchildren; his fur baby, Missy; and numerous other relatives and friends. Vernon retired from Reynolds Metals in 1998 after 36 years of service as a Master Machinist. In 1957 he married his first wife and raised a family in Mechanicsville before purchasing his farm in King and Queen in 1989. In 2015 he married his wife, Marcia. They have been enjoying their twilight years together splitting their time between the town house and the country estate. Vernon never met a stranger and would talk to everyone he met. He loved being on the farm and his time spent with his large extended family and friends. His humor and kindness will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive friends, Monday, July 5, 2021, from 6 - 9 pm, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will be held, Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 11 am. Interment will follow at Hanover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepherds UMC, 163 Fleets Mill Rd, St Stephens Church, VA 23148, or Trinity UMC, 5428 Richmond Hwy, Tappahannock, VA 22560.
