LIGGAN, Linwood, 92, of Old Church, Virginia peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 28th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winder Liggan and Sarah Yeamans Liggan. He is survived by his lifelong partner of 59 years, Annie Catherine Watts; his step-children, Cathie Watts Howard (Bill), Deborah Watts Taggart, and Richard Watts (Jennifer); his ten grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren; his dear friend, Carolyn Frank; and many other lifelong friends. Linwood was the unofficial mayor of Old Church. He was an avid Civil War buff and loved to read about history and Old Church. He was very proud of his personal parking spot at West Store and his fluorescent orange top car. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. Linwood lived a simple lifestyle—he loved his farm and his family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Immanuel Episcopal Church, 3263 Old Church Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
