CAHILL, Linda Jean, affectionately known as Mimi, passed away on July 8th, 2024 in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Born to Geraldine “Jerri” and William E. “Red” Cahill on May 9th, 1943, in Princeton, WV, she was an avid gardener who loved her family deeply. Linda served as assistant magistrate for Mercer County for 19 years. She was also very active in her church community where she used her many talents to organize yard sales, decorate for the holidays, and made costumes for the church nativity. She loved to maintain her home and its many flower gardens and spend time with her cat Tiddlywinks while she listened to music. Her biggest passion was her family that she loved deeply from her children to grandchildren and was recently excited to learn of her newest great-grandson. Predeceased by her parents and her nephew Chad, Linda’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family. She is survived by her son, Troy DeLung and wife Marcie; her daughter, Tracy DeLung and wife Kay; her grandchildren, Ashley George and husband Ben, William DeLung, and Anna DeLung; her great-grandchild, Rowan George; her brother, Thomas “Butch” Cahill and wife Sierra “Sue”; and her niece, Cassie Reed and husband Alan with children Brylan, Brighton, Easton, and Caelan. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, at Landmark First Church of God in Princeton, WV. Fellowship after service. We invite contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers, honoring Linda’s legacy.
