Obituary

BOURNE, Leo Herman, 87, of Mechanicsville, departed this life on May 1, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents; Clarence Bourne and Corelee Lloyd, a sister; Margaret Jackson: two brothers, Clarence “Sonny” Bourne, and Rowland Bourne, and his loving wife, Anne Bourne.  He is survived by his sons; Leo H. Bourne Jr. (Connie), and Walter Scott Bourne (Donna), his significant other, Kathy Helms, his grandchildren “Trey” Bourne, Jessica Kimmel(Tyler), Jacob Kimmel(Nora), and many other loving family and friends. Leo was a hardworking family man. He loved his garden and the outdoors. He loved playing poker, but most of all he loved spending time with his siblings and having people over for dinner.  The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer’s research can be given by going to https://www.alz.org/.
