Kenneth "Kenny" Dean Palmore

PALMORE, Kenneth D., 73, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on September 23, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Wilson Palmore, Sr. and Gertrude Audrey Herndon Palmore; his two brothers, Eddie Palmore, Jr (Cheryl) and Barry Palmore; and his sister, Jean Palmore Ray (Bobby). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Healey Palmore; his son, Justin Palmore; his brother, Glenn M. Palmore (Renee); his sister, Barbara Palmore Costin (Tom); his brother-in-laws, Michael Healey (Kathy) and Robert Healey (Cherrie); and many other nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, Kenny was a loving, caring and wonderful husband and father. Kenny was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed working on the yard, snow skiing and water skiing on his boat “Dixie.” He loved to fish with his brother Eddie out on the Chesapeake Bay. Kenny, Brenda, and Justin would often go canoeing on the upper James River in Scottsville, VA. Kenny really enjoyed getting together with his friends from high school for an occasional lunch. Annually, one of Kenny’s favorite vacations was going to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle, NC with Brenda and Justin. We will always cherish the road trips we had with Kenny. Later in life, Kenny enjoyed getting outside on the golf course with family and friends. The family will receive family and friends from 11 AM to 1PM on September 27th, 2024, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. The interment will be private with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in Kenny’s name to the American Lung Association.
