It is with profound sadness that the family of Joyce Anne Davis Kline announces her passing on Friday, March 7, 2025, in Mechanicsville, VA. Joyce was 90 years young and born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, graduating from the original John Marshall High School in 1954. She was the daughter of the late Carl E. Davis and Bertha M. Davis. She married the love of her life, G.E. “Gene” Kline of Ohio, on April 18, 1959. They built their life together on a farm in Mechanicsville, VA. They were happily married for 38 years until his passing in October 1997. Joyce had several careers spanning her life, her favorite being that in the library of the Federal Reserve of Richmond. But her most profound and important job was that of Wife, Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma (Gigi). She cherished her work as the matriarch of our family, and nothing filled her heart with more joy and happiness than that of watching us all grow up and thrive. Surviving this remarkable woman are her three children, Cheryl Sluder (David), Michael Kline (Donna), and Sandra Bartrug (Brian); Grandchildren, Joshua Sluder (Jennifer), Mathew Sluder (April), Dean Kline, Leanna Bartrug and Jacob Bartrug; Great-granddaughters, Eden and Aniston Sluder, and Noel and Gracie Jo Sluder. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA. 23111. Family and Friends may gather one hour prior. A private reception will immediately follow. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of, donations can be made to East Hanover Rescue Squad. Or go do one of her favorite things: plant some flowers, go for a long walk, or grab an ice cream cone and enjoy. And always find laughter in life.
