Joy Preston Konvicka

KONVICKA, Joy Preston – 85, departed this life on January 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Mineola Preston, Sr.; and her brothers, John R. Preston, Jr. and Harry H. Preston. She is survived by her children, Laddie R. Konvicka (Sarah), Michael Konvicka (Teresa), Jill Balleh (Brian), and Valerie Miller (Steve); eight grandchildren, Thomas Konvicka (Marika), Timothy Konvicka (Kelly), Katie Konvicka (Jacob), Alex Balleh (Ashley), Chris Pender, Stephen Balleh (Maggie), Colton Konvicka (Brayton), and Jonathon Pender (Lexi); five great-grandchildren, Bowman, Scottie, Mila, Ella and Burton; brother, Jack P. Preston (Jane); sister-in-law, Ann Preston; the father of her children, Al Konvicka (Betty), Michelle Fitzsimmons, and many friends and students from CDS. Joy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bingo, and slot machines, and spending time with those she loved. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111 where a funeral service will be held promptly at noon. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
