Josephine "Jo" (Wilson) Bannister

Bannister, Josephine W. “Jo”- 82, of Henrico, VA entered eternal rest with the Lord, Friday, November 19, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, John L. Bannister; and a sister, Maxine Finch. Jo is survived by her loving daughters, Laurie J. Wilson (Bernie), and Lisa Bannister Brooks; five grandchildren, Michael Wilson (Jen), Lauren Renee' Field (Will), Kayla Elaine Lawson (James), John Wilson (Shirley) and Wayne Brooks; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Liam, Max, Malcolm, Leah, and Luke; a brother, Winfield Wilson; nephew, Mark; 3 nieces, Cindy Melanie and Susan; and many other loved ones and friends. Jo loved the Lord and her quiet time alone reading the Bible. She enjoyed writing poetry and donating to charities such as the American Heart Association. She was a business owner and successful Real Estate Broker for 40 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends, from 2 - 4 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA 23150. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to New Bridge Baptist Church, 5701 Elko Rd., Sandston, VA 23150.
