John Gaines White

WHITE, John Gaines – 42 of Mechanicsville, VA, unexpectantly went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025. He is survived by his parents, Robert “Bob” White, Jr., and Mary Ellen Richardson Goldberg; his brothers, Kurt Gunther White (Meredith) and Christian Peter White; his niece and nephew, Shuler Allen White and Sloane Collins White; and close family friends, Charles and Anne Bailkowski; and many other relatives and friends.  John was a chef for over 25 years. He was kind and thoughtful, with a great sense of humor. He was selfless and always put others before himself. John was an avid movie buff and able to quote 80’s and 90’s action movie lines by memory. He was a huge WWE and NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching Notre Dame and San Fransico 49ers football. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
