John Wesley Simmons, Jr.

SIMMONS, John W, 74 of Mechanicsville, departed this life on February 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Jim Love. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Simmons; his daughter, Julie Bolog (Pete); and his sister, Linda Miller (Rick). John proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and enjoyed spending time with friends at the American Legion Post 175. He loved classic rock music, gardening, his pet cats, and his grand-cats, Dahlia and Oliver. The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 2 - 5 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
