John Willard Palmer

PALMER, John Willard 60, of Aylett, VA  departed this life, Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, John Truett Palmer; his mother, Margaret Schlecht Palmer; and his stepmother, Ellen Rotermund Palmer.  John is survived by his beloved wife, Beatrice K. Palmer; his sons, John Austin and Jaimeson Grey Palmer; a granddaughter, Addison Reign; his brother, Michael T. Palmer (Sue); sister, Heidi Hernandez (Martin); nephews, David and George Palmer and Andrew Hernandez; nieces, Madeline Palmer and Regan Hernandez; and many other family members and dear friends. John graduated with honors from VCU with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He had numerous passions and hobbies including flying and beekeeping. John was a member of the Ashland Beekeepers Association and a moderator for Beesource. He loved working with his bees and sharing with others about them. He had vast knowledge and made himself available to anyone who needed it. His final gift was the gift of sight by being an organ donor. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a Celebration of Life will follow at noon. A luncheon reception will follow the service.
