JoAnn (Walton) Stevens

STEVENS, Joann Walton – 61 of Mechanicsville, VA gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Walton, a sister-in-law, Melissa Brann, and her brothers-in-law, William Stevens, Gene Stevens, Sr., and Joe Stevens, Sr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Samuel C. Stevens, Sr.; two children, Samuel Stevens, Jr. (Amanda), and Elizabeth Otey (Christopher); five grandchildren, Alexus Otey, Ethan Waugh, Alyssa Waugh, Alyssa Otey, and Samuel Stevens; her father, Lloyd Walton; her siblings, Junior Walton, Timmy Walton, and Betty Snow (Frosty); sisters-in-law, Peggy Tallent (Joseph), Shirley Harmon, Joyce Clark, and Mary Gibbs.; brother-in-law, James Stevens; her fur baby Jill and many other relatives and friends. Joann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nanny and friend. She never met a stranger and was the most selfless person you will ever know. She was always willing to help those she loved. She was a great cook. Joann loved sunflowers, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her large family. The family will receive friends, from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, March 6, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy. Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, March 7, 2024, with interment to follow at Hanover Memorial Park.
