James Martin “Jimmy” Brennan, 76, of Walkerton, VA, passed away on October 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Brennan; his brothers, Johnny, Michael, Robert, and David Brennan; as well as his mother- and father-in-law, Betty and Lloyd Coburn.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Georgia Brennan; his siblings, Martha B. Camire (Bob), Steve Brennan (Karen), Donna B. Beale, Paul Brennan (Rosalind), Elaine B. Minneart, Mary B. Womack (Bruce), and Karen B. Schalow; his sister- and brother-in-law, Marianne (Randal) Coburn and Russell (Barbara) Coburn; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
As a young man, driven by a deep sense of patriotism, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and will always be remembered for his service to his country.
Following his military service, Jimmy built a successful career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), retiring as a Management Analyst.
Jimmy and his wife, Georgia, shared many wonderful years together at their home on the Mattaponi River. They loved spending time on their pontoon boat, often joined by family and friends for days filled with laughter and lasting memories. Jimmy and Georgia also cherished their beloved dogs, who were always an important part of their lives.
Jimmy’s family and friends will remember him for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for those close to him. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of devotion, courage, and compassion. In keeping with his wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.
