TUOHY, Jr., James H. – 93 of Henrico, Va, formerly of New York, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, and his sisters, Alice, and Bernadette. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Birmingham (Bob), Mary Kay Tuohy (Kris), and Teresa Maguire (Glenn); 10 grandchildren, Erin, Colleen, Shannon, and Mary Birmingham, Riley, Devin, and Kieran Maguire, and Andrei, and Aleksei Gustafson; his longtime loving partner, Carolyn Jarvis; her children, Brian, and Missy; and her grandchildren, Hali, and Joseph; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. James lived a long and full life. Most mornings he greeted the day by shouting, “Good morning world!” from the nearest window or door, and fittingly left this world in a “Life is good” t-shirt. His motto, “Life is about change”, guided him from the Great Depression and WWII, through the invention of computers and mobile phones; even allowing a Yankees fan to emerge from the loss of the Brooklyn Dodgers. A lover of books, old movies, political discussion, and all kinds of music; he firmly believed all were better with coffee or beer and the people he loved. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force reserves. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and retired after 30+ years of service from CBS Inc. He was all heart and will be missed by so many. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, August 11, 2023, at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 909 Rennie Ave, Richmond, VA 23227, with Interment to follow at Hanover Memorial Park.
