James M. Greene

GREENE, James M. – 81 of Sandston, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Muriel Greene, and his son Jimmy Greene. He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Sharon; his daughter, Debby Carver (Gary); son, Ricky Jenkins; eight grandchildren, Joseph Scott Carver (Elizabeth), Aaron Richard Carver (Olivia), Kaitlin Carver Burkhardt (Zachary), Kylie Isabella Jenkins, Courtney, Cody, Crystal, and Jessica; and four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Caroline, Riley, and Max; his sister, Ola Mae “Ronnie” Thomason; niece, Susan Thomason; nephew, Jerry Dan Greene (Robin); two stepchildren, David Parrish (Sarah) and Lisa Jones; two sisters-in-law, Martha Mahieu (Harry) and Kay Stallard and family; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. James proudly served his country for three years in the US Army. He taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon in the Baptist Church, and was a current member at Hardy Central Baptist Church, where he sang in the church choir. James loved to travel, visit old trains, and collecting coins. He will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am, on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Hardy Central Baptist Church, 4655 Darbytown Rd., Richmond, VA 23231, with a funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment with military honors will be held at 2 pm, at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
