James Daniel "Danny" Briggs, Jr.

BRIGGS, Jr., James “Danny” – 78 of Mechanicsville, VA, went home to be with the Lord and his beautiful bride Joan, and his fur babies, Chloe and Midnight, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. He leaves behind a big, loving family who will miss him beyond measure.

Danny found joy in music that touched his soul and felt the most peace fishing on the shores of Nags Head or cheering at a hockey game. He was known for his remarkable luck, often surprising everyone with another sweepstakes win, a talent that became a cherished family story. Never far from him was his favorite companion, a crisp, ice-cold, Dr. Pepper.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have him. James “Danny” Briggs will be remembered always, in every ocean breeze, every roll of thunder, and in every moment where love and laughter meet.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Gethsemane Church of Christ, 5146 Mechanicsville Tpke, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
