Drummond, Jack Winston; 85, of Mechanicsville, VA peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family and special caregivers, Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gloria Drummond; his parents, Eugene A. and Allyne W. Drummond; a sister, Mary Drummond and 2 brothers, William and James Drummond. Jack is survived by his children, Steven Drummond (Renee), Mark Drummond (Barbara), and Paige Bishop (Kenny); 6 grandchildren, Ashley Stepp (Toby), Samantha Drummond (Devon), Ryan Bishop (Stephanie), Collin Drummond (Mary), Conner Drummond (Hannah) and Cameron Drummond; 3 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brianna and Bhode; a sister, JoAnn Brown; and many other relatives and friends. Jack served his country in the National Guard. He was a past member of the Alamance County Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Sheriff’s Auxiliary, and a long-time volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He retired from the telephone company after 33 years of service. Jack was a devoted husband and cherished his time spent with his family. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hanover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for humanity. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time, as well as his team of caretakers whom he called “his girls”; Jamie, Donna, Joyce and Janet, whom he loved dearly.
