Irma Muriel Edwards

Edwards, Irma Muriel – 88 of Mechanicsville, VA met Jesus on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Muriel was born February 6, 1936, in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Irma Smith; her daughter, September Edwards; a brother, Joe Conrad Smith; and a sister, Marie Herlong. Aunt Muriel always knew how to get a laugh and could tell a good story from her remarkable memory. She was the best at putting puzzles together and working on crossword puzzles. Thank you to her beloved niece and nephews, John Herlong (Janice), Don Herlong (Nateka), Danny Herlong (Maria), and April Herlong White for all their love, help, and support. A special thank you to her neighbor and closest friend, Joan Groome, and the late Bill West for providing unconditional care over the past six years. Also, a thank you to her hospice care team for their help and support. Aunt Muriel has now joined all of the pets that she rescued, loved, and cared for throughout the years. They were all waiting for her across Rainbow Bridge. May God hold your hand until we meet again. Per her request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider adopting a shelter animal or making a donation to a no-kill animal rescue group such as Richmond Animal League, or one of your choosing.
