DUNIVAN, Helen Polis; 88 of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 29th, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. Polis, Sr., and Virginia Zehab Polis; her brothers, Raymond Polis and Joe Polis; and her sister, Katherine Polis Schulze. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Charles T. Polis, Jr.; her daughter, Judy A. Winn; and her son, William David Dunivan (Cindy); her grandchildren, Bryan McDearmon (Sherri), Jaime Maughan (Kevin), and Casey Dunivan; her great-grandchildren, Bailey and Cayden McDearmon, and Grayson, Parker, and Andrew Maughan; and by her many nieces and nephews. Helen graduated from Louisa County High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She worked for many years at the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, as well as the State of Virginia until she retired. Helen loved music, singing, and traveling. Her favorite place was the beach, where she found comfort and peace walking along the shoreline and listening to the ocean waves. She loved each and every one of her family members unconditionally and was kind to everyone she met. The family will receive friends from 4 - 5 pm, Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111 with a memorial service to follow promptly at 5 pm.
